Be Grateful, Eat Real Food. By Steel Burkhardt

Well, here we go, plunging into the cold weather, holiday gatherings, and “the most wonderful time of the year”! Whether you enjoy listening to holiday music before Thanksgiving or not, there is one thing we all do besides stuff the turkey…we stuff ourselves! And I am not going to tell you that you shouldn’t. Are you surprised?

Let’s cook like our Grandmothers and Great-Grandmothers used to cook, with whole butter, good Olive oil, and real animal fat.  It’s common knowledge now that we were all duped into thinking low-fat equals healthy (at least I was). If this is news to you, then, “Yay, you’re free!” The truth is we should eat whole fat and stay away from industrial fats, i.e. corn, soybean, sunflower, etc. These oils were engineered by scientists in labs to be used in food.

Eat food made by people in lab coats, you’ll visit people in lab coats.  Eat food from nature, you’ll be taking walks in nature for years to come.

So, take a step back from cooking all your favorite Thanksgiving sides from boxes and cans and go out and grab the real thing. Grocery stores or farmers markets are ready to sell you all the fresh veggies you’ll need. Your HDL and LDL levels will thank you. Gobble gobble!
