Hey Valentine…Go Alkaline!

No matter what Valentine’s Day means to you, it can be a great opportunity for self-love and self-care. Alkalizing your beautiful body with our Lizzy Jays Pure Greens, Crisp Greens and Veggie Mix is one of the easiest ways to balance your pH level.

What is pH and what does it mean to alkalize?

Your pH level is the acid-alkaline measurement of your system. Your body and being thrives when it’s in balance. The pH of healthy, oxygen-rich blood is between 7.365 and 7.45, or slightly alkaline. However, the standard American diet tends to be very acidic, which puts a lot of stress on your entire system. An acidic environment is more conducive to disease, inflammation, weight gain and aging. By consuming alkaline foods and drinks, you make it easier for your body to maintain its proper pH and therefore, optimal health, a happy weight, clear glowing skin and overall youthfulness!

Here are some great alkalizing foods to add to your diet:

  2. Avocados
  3. Broccoli
  4. Cucumbers
  5. Celery
  6. Garlic

  8. You really can’t go wrong with veggies!
  9. Tomatoes
  10. Lemons (yes, tomatoes and lemons metabolize alkaline)
  11. Coconut
  12. Olive, Coconut, Flax, Hemp, Grapeseed oils
  13. Chia seeds
  14. Quinoa
  15. Lentils

Cut down on some of these acid forming foods:

  1. Sugar
  2. Alcohol
  3. Coffee
  4. Candy/sweets
  5. Processed food/fast food
  6. Soda/Sweetened fruit juice
  7. Jam/Jelly
  8. Processed meats
  9. White rice/bread/pasta
  10. Artificial sweeteners
