Balancing your pH for better health.

Why is pH crucial to Health?
A balanced pH protects the body from the inside out. Disease has a very hard time taking root in a body whose pH is in balance. The imbalance of acidity and alkalinity allows unhealthy organisms to flourish and compromises the immune system.

What is proper pH?
pH is short for the term potential of hydrogen. It is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of our body’s fluids and tissues. It is measured on a scale from 0-14. A pH of 7 is neutral. The healthiest pH is one that is slightly alkaline.

What affects pH?
The kidneys normally maintain our electrolyte levels of calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium.  When we are exposed to acidic substances, these electrolytes are used to combat acidity. This can rob minerals from the bones, cells, organs and tissues. Toxins and other pathogens accumulate in the body and the immune system becomes suppressed.

How do I improve my pH?
Take a look at your own food and drink choices. How do they measure up? Soda = 2. Coffee = 4. Cucumber = 7. Get the picture? Good news is you can tilt the pH scale in the right direction on a diet filled with mineral-rich plant foods. Green Juices are the most powerful way to set the stage first thing in the morning. Eating more leafy greens, avocados, raw vegetables and fresh fish instead of animal products, processed carbs, refined sugar, energy drinks, etc., floods the body with alkalinity, vitamins and other nutrients. Healthy food creates healthy cells.
