When you think of the word medicine, what comes to mind? For a lot of people, the thought of medicine conjures up images of doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and little bottles of pills. While all these can be helpful, and are sometimes necessary, there are lots of other things available that can help us heal and maintain our wellbeing.

Consider this quote by Hippocrates: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

One of my favorite natural medicines is HEALTHY FOOD AND DRINKS. However, there are so many opinions on what is healthy and what is not. Please consult your healthcare professional and do your research to determine what is best for you. Here’s a question that helps guide me… Is it from the Earth or is it from a factory? A great way to move toward the wellness you desire is to eat and drink more whole foods. Do I eat 100% clean 24/7? No! Do I have my vices? Yes! However, I make a conscious effort to be mindful about nourishing my body with as many foods and drinks from the Earth as time, budget and conditions allow.

Recently, I was on vacation. I’d say I was “reasonable” with my choices, but unfortunately, I ran out of my LizzyJays Juices. So, between some extra indulging and no LJ Juice, I noticed I started having more frequent and more intense hot flashes. Not fun! Therefore, I didn’t sleep as well, which started a downward spiral of not feeling or looking great.

As soon as I got home and got back on track with my daily LizzyJays Pure Greens, the hot flashes practically disappeared. Every LJ juice is fresh pressed with approximately 7 lbs of nutrient dense veggies and fruit. So, it’s no wonder that I quickly started to look and feel better. There are other forms of “medicine” that can add to your well being too! Some of my favorites are:

DEEP BREATHING: This helps you oxygenate your body, calm your mind and be more present so you make better choices.

YOGA/MOVEMENT/EXERCISE: Aligning, moving and toning your body keeps you looking and feeling great and produces “happy” chemicals called endorphins.

POSITIVE/PRODUCTIVE MESSAGES: When you choose to think about and surround yourself with positive/productive messages, you create an inner and outer environment that supports your wellbeing. SELF CARE: Everything thrives better in an environment of love, respect and care. Know that you deserve to be well and you deserve to be physically, mentally and spiritually nourished.
